Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the launch of Uttarakhand Devbhumi Udyamita Yojana in a cabinet meeting held on 24 August 2023. Through this scheme, free entrepreneurship and skill training will be provided to students studying in the state’s graduate colleges and universities. This skill training will be provided by the government to connect the students with self-employment without employing them. So that after getting skill training the youth can establish self employment and not employment. The Government of Uttarakhand has signed an MOU with the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Ahmedabad to implement this scheme. So this organization provides free training to students studying in colleges and universities of Uttarakhand to make them self-reliant and connect them with self-employment. This will make their future bright and it will help in reducing the unemployment rate in the state.

Uttarakhand Devbhumi Udyamita Yojana Objective

Uttarakhand Government launched Devbhoomi Udyamita Scheme to provide free training in entrepreneurship and skills to students studying in universities and colleges of the state. By this one can join self-employment after completing education. And they don’t have to wander from here to there in search of work. By getting skill training the youth will be able to establish self employment and provide employment to others.

3000 Students are Trained Every Year

Under the Uttarakhand Devbhumi Udyamita Yojana, after the government entered into an agreement with the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Ahmedabad, it has been decided to impart skill training to 3000 students every year under the scheme. Students are selected by their college and university for entrepreneurship and skill training under Devbhumi Udyog Yojana. After selection, Akshara students are given free training facility for skill and role. So that they can prepare themselves for self employment.

Teachers will be Trained

College students and teachers will be trained under Uttarakhand Devbhumi Udyamita Yojana. Students are given information about boot camps, pitching events and seed funding during entrepreneurship and skill training. This will help the youth to create employment in the state in the near future. Also, the teachers of these training institutes will be trained in entrepreneurship guidance, center of excellence. And in the coming time, an entrepreneurship course will also be created in the training program.

A Budget of More than 7 Crores has been fixed

A budget of 7 crore 11 lakh 95 thousand has been earmarked by the government for the Devbhumi Udyamita Yojana. Through this the budgeted amount of training can be imparted to the eligible beneficiaries of Uttarakhand Devbhumi Udyamita Yojana. With the operation of this scheme, in the coming time, the youth of Uttarakhand will be able to connect with maximum self-employment and provide employment to other people.
