The government launched the UP Mahila Samarthya Yojana 2023 on February 22 while announcing the UP Budget 2021–22. A new scheme named Mahila Samarthya Yojana will be launched in the financial year 2021-2022. The government has allocated a budget of Rs.200 crores for this project.

Mahila Samarthya Yojana Implementation
In the first phase of this project, 200 development blocks will be developed with women’s general amenity centers. These centers provide facilities like training, general production and processing, technology research and development, packaging, leveling, and barcoding facilities. 90% of the cost per facility is borne by the state government. Under the Uttar Pradesh Mahila Samarthya Yojana, two-level committees are formed at the state and district levels. A district-level committee under the chairmanship of the district commissioner should be formed and the district-level committee should work with the state-level steering committee to employ women in the state. A committee formed in each district will identify and guide eligible women’s groups and organizations.
Under the Uttar Pradesh Mahila Samarthya Yojana 2023, general awareness, counseling programs, accreditations, seminars, workshops, and training programs will be conducted to empower the women of the state.
