What is Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana 2023?

The Yojana was inaugurated on June 9 by the Mukhyamantri of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot. Farmers with state meters are provided with subsidies on electricity bills through Muhkyamantri Kisan Mitra Oorja Yojana. The sanction amount is a maximum of ₹ 1000 per month and a maximum of ₹ 12000 per year. Under this scheme, electricity bills are issued by the Electricity Distribution Corporation on a bi-monthly billing basis to all eligible agricultural consumers. 60% of the electricity bill is paid on a pro-rata basis every month. This amount is capped at ₹ 1000 per month. All farmer consumers will start availing the benefits of the Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Energy Scheme in May. 1450 crores from the Government for the implementation of this project.

Rajasthan Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana Additional Grant

Under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana, the additional subsidy will be provided to the general category metered and flat category agricultural consumers in rural areas along with the existing tariff subsidy. This additional grant will be ₹ 1000 per month. A maximum additional grant of ₹ 12000 will be provided in 1 year. This additional grant will be provided subject to the following conditions.

• The scheme will be implemented in the agricultural bills issued in May and will be implemented in the billing month of the three electricity distribution corporations.
• The electricity distribution corporation issues the electricity bill every two months as per the budget announcement.
• This additional grant amount is provided only to general category rural meter and flat rate category agricultural consumers.
• If there is no advance due amount at the time of bill issuance in the current billing month, in this case, the amount of subsidy in the electricity bill will be adjusted as per this circular.
• Consumers are prompted to pay their electricity bills on the due date.
• If the customer’s recharge amount in any financial year is less than ₹ 1000, in this case, the balance adjustment will be done in the remaining month of the same financial year.
• If a new connection is released in the middle of the year, in that case, the annual limit of the grant will have to be paid pro rata.
• The Finance Department is informed every month about the number of farmers who benefited and the grant sanctioned to them.
• The electricity distribution company will inform the finance department along with the amount of additional grants to be given under the scheme and the proposal for the upcoming financial year. This information should be given through the BFC meeting. So it can be confirmed that the grant amount has been provided by the finance department.
• The beneficiary has to link his electricity account number with his Aadhaar number and bank account number to get an additional grant amount.
• In case of misuse of power or theft of power by the customer or theft of power and damage to the property of the Corporation, the subsidy amount shall be paid in the next billing month after the customer clears his fault or deposits the full charge.

Rajasthan Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana Objective

The objective of Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana 2023 is to provide subsidies on electricity bills to farmers. Through this scheme, farmers will be provided a subsidy of up to ₹ 1000 per month on their electricity bill. It helps farmers pay their bills. Apart from that, farmers will be encouraged to save electricity through the Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Scheme. For this, if the farmer’s bill is less than ₹ 1000 per month, in this situation the difference between the bill amount and the grant amount will be transferred to the beneficiary’s account.

‘मुख्यमंत्री किसान मित्र ऊर्जा योजना’ के प्रारूप को मंजूरी दी है। इस योजना के तहत राज्य सरकार द्वारा मीटर्ड कृषि उपभोक्ताओं को बिजली के बिल पर प्रतिमाह एक हजार रूपए और अधिकतम 12 हजार रूपए प्रतिवर्ष अनुदान दिया जाएगा।
इससे प्रतिवर्ष एक हजार 450 करोड़ रूपये का वित्तीय भार आएगा।

Rajasthan Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana Benefits/Features

• Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana was launched on 9th June by the Mukhyamantri of Rajasthan Mr. Ashok Gehlot.

• Through this scheme, agricultural consumers will also be encouraged to conserve electricity.
• Central and State Government employees will not be able to avail the benefits of the Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Scheme.

• Only agricultural consumers of Rajasthan can avail the benefits of this scheme.
• Central and State Government employees are not eligible for this scheme.
