What is Odisha Sampoorna Pushti Yojana (MSPY) 2023

On June 21, 2023, the late Chief Minister of Odisha presided over the Cabinet meeting. The Chief Minister’s Samavarna Pushti Yojana is one of the 15 initiatives that came out in this cabinet meeting. The mSPY program in Odisha enables adolescent women between the ages of 15 and 19 to be provided nutritious food irrespective of their caste. Additionally, Kishori Mela is organized to check for diseases like anemia. With the help of this welfare programme, the state government hopes to improve the nutritional status of pregnant women, lactating mothers and adolescent girls in the state. September 17, Update – CM Naveen launched the MSPY project

In an effort to meet the nutritional needs of mothers, young women and children, the Chief Minister of the state on Thursday launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Sampura Pushti Yojana’. As part of the programme, arrangements have been made to provide additional dry food to pregnant and lactating women, nutritious food to all girls between 15 to 19 years and complete meals to underweight and malnourished children. In addition, provisions have been made to provide vitamin-enriched chatua and eggs to moderately underweight and severely malnourished children.

At ICDS project level, Kishori fairs are organized for anemia screening, TEC/SBCC activities and screening of adolescent girls at risk of malnutrition (BMI, MUAC).

Maternal Nutrition

Across the state, pregnant women and lactating mothers receive supplementary take-home rations in the form of nutrient-dense food items like chickpeas and extra eggs.
