What is Bihar Kishori Balika Yojana?
Bihar Kishori Balika Yojana is administered by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Bihar. Mission Saksham has launched this scheme for girls in the state through the Directorate of Integrated Child Development Services under Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0. Through the Bihar Kishori Balika Yojana, all girls in the age group of 14 to 18 years in the state are provided nutritional and non-nutritive benefits to improve their health and nutrition levels. Apart from this, through Bihar Kishori Balika Yojana, supplementary nutrition is provided to girls in the form of THR (Home Ration) for 25 days a month. This benefit is provided keeping in mind the physical needs of the adolescent girl child.
The state government has started the scheme only in 13 districts. Applications are received from the Anganwadi Center to avail the benefits of this scheme. To extend the benefits of this scheme to girls, the Bihar government has given the last date for application as February 15, 2023.

The objective of the Government of Bihar in launching the Bihar Balika Kishori Yojana is to meet the physical needs of the girls in the state during their adolescence so that their physical development takes place properly. For this, the government also provides nutritious food to the girls for 25 days a month. The State Government aims to provide benefits of nutritional supplements and non-nutritional services to the girl child. To avail of the benefits of this scheme, girls should get enrollment of Adolescent Girls in the Nutrition Tracker app through Anganwadi Center and Aadhaar verification of enrolled Adolescent Girls before 15 February 2023. Adolescent girls are provided the benefit of supplementary nutrition and non-nutrition services only after Aadhaar verification.
